Stranraer this evening completed the signing of Striker Darren Gribben until the end of the season. The 26 year old is no stranger to Stair Park having played 10 times for the Blues in a short spell here in the early part of 2008. Most recently he had been with Arbroath until his release from Gayfield earlier this week. Darren has also featured in his career for Berwick Rangers, Bo'ness United, Dumbarton, Brechin City, Stirling Albion, Forfar Athletic, Cowdenbeath and Hamilton Accies. He has an excellent scoring record and is not far short of 100 goals in the SFL with over 250 appearances to his name. Taking the first team squad for training on Thursday evening, Manager Stephen Aitken was delighted at having sealed the deal and told the clubs website "Darren is exactly the type of player I have been trying to bring to the club as he will strengthen the squad by adding to the options I have available. I'm delighted at being able to bring a player with a proven goalscoring record like his onboard". Referring to the upcoming match against East Fife, Aitken added " Darren will go straight into the squad for Saturday's match and hopefully give us a real boost".
