Glasgow Stranraer F.C. Supporters Club

sfclogoHistory of Supporters Club

The Glasgow Stranraer F.C. Supporters Club was setup a few years ago mainly when the clubs financial problems came to light. The clubs Chairman made the bold statement that the club might not make it to the end of the season. Blues fan and former committee member James McQuistin setup Save Our Stranraer campaign with an online donation website that helped raise some funds for the club which helped in some way to making the club financially more secure. Mike McLean a Blues fan living in the central belt was interested in helping in some way so he agreed to setup the Glasgow Stranraer Supporters Club. Mike started following the Blues in the 70's when he worked for national radio and newspapers in Scotland.  Mike McLean Your RadioHe still is involved with radio at the Dumbarton station Your Radio. The station also covers the Greenock area. Mike has organised regular quizzes which act as fund raisers so we can sponsor a players kit or some other sponsorship.  In the last two seasons we have had Football team quizzes against other teams from the central belt in various locations in the city centre. Other quiz "squad" members are George Rankin, Colin Ferguson, Iain Dougan, Shaun Niven, Alexander Rankin, Brian Martin and Roddy Cairns. Anyone else interested in taking part don't hesitate to contact any of us on match days. Mike hosts the most up to date Sport show In Scotland, What's the score, 11am-midday, on the station every week.  It can be heard online at or on 106.9FM.
