Former Rangers youth prospect Danny Stoney will have another chance to make an impact at Stair Park, as he put pen to paper at training tonight.

Danny initially signed for Stranraer on loan from the Ibrox side back in 2014, having come through the youth ranks at Murray Park.

A promising striker blessed with blistering pace, Stoney was primarily used as a second half substitute in his first spell with the Blues, scoring twice, but suffered a long-term injury upon his return to Rangers and found himself without a club.

Supporters will no doubt remember his return as a trialist during our hunt for a striker in the 2015/16 season, including a late cameo at Forfar. Unfortunately, an injury whilst playing for the under 20s at Somerset Park would end his chances of a contract.

However, after a single term at junior side Neilston, Danny was invited in for pre-season by Stevie Farrell, and his attitude and endeavour has impressed the manager enough to offer him a contract for 2017/18.

Welcome back, Danny.
