Stenny 1 April 2017 032AMADOU Kassarate is planning to send social media into meltdown after scoring his first-ever professional goal.

The striker was making his eighth appearance for Stranraer when he grabbed the vital third goal against Stenhousemuir.

The memorable overhead kick killed off any chances of a comeback from the visitors and put Stranraer eight points clear of their opponents.

Kassarate said afterwards: "I am going to e-mail the camera man as soon as I get home.

"I need that clip straight away!

"I'm going to post it all over social media - everyone is going to hear about it.

"Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook - it's going on them all."

The 21-year-old had a smile as big as Loch Ryan when he spoke to the official website after the full time whistle.

He said: "It is amazing to get my first goal, it is a great feeling.

"I didn't know where to go, where to run to, so, it was a great feeling to finally get my first professional goal after a few games.

"The lads have been great, the manager has been great and I just want to thank my team-mates and the gaffer for believing in me and giving me a chance.

"It was a great goal - it could not have gone any better than that.

"It was an amazing goal and I will never forget it.

"It is the first of many, hopefully."

The frontman, who joined Stranraer on loan from Dumbarton in February, described the strike three minutes from full time as the best he had scored at any level.

Stranraer boss Stevie Farrell and Kassarate are no strangers to each other having worked together at the Sons earlier this year.

Kassarate made his senior debut for Dumbarton against Dundee and also featured against Peterhead in the Scottish League Cup before spending time on loan at Kirkintilloch Rob Roy.

When the chance to be reunited with Farrell and Alan Waddell came up, the Senegal under-20 man did not have to think twice.

After scoring, he immediately picked himself up and ran to the home dugout to celebrate with the duo and fellow Stranraer players.

He said: "I'm definitely enjoying my time at the club.

"I'm really over the moon and just so happy that I scored.

"I just wanted to thank the staff and the gaffer for believing in me and giving me a chance."
