33 Livingston WBLUES boss Stevie Farrell has urged his team to keep concentrating on themselves if they are to climb the table.

Stranraer have picked up four points out of a possible six since Farrell replaced Brian Reid in the manager's hot seat.

However, they are still languishing at the bottom of the table, one point adrift of Stenhousemuir.

Farrell said: "I said to the players after the East Fife game that I don't want them to be despondent by other results.

"I want them to be happy and feel good and confident in their own results.

"You keep picking up results and points and I genuinely, genuinely believe we will be fine regardless of what other teams do.

"There are 13 games and 39 points still to play for.

"There is a third of the season left and a lot of football.

"We just need to concentrate on Stranraer picking up points, valuable points both home and away."

Stranraer travel to the Tony Macaroni Arena tomorrow (Saturday) looking for their first win at the West Lothian club since Gordon Young's strike 19 years ago.

Farrell will be forced into one change from the side which picked up three points last weekend against Albion Rovers.

mneill1617largeCentral defender Morgyn Neill is ineligible to play against his parent club but Craig Pettigrew is expected to return from injury.

The manager was keen for his squad to go to the league leaders full of confidence after their recent form.

He said: "We know we are going to the league leaders and a full time club which is always difficult.

"But we go with some form and confidence behind us."

Among those with a spring in their step is striker Craig Malcolm, who scored twice in the 3-0 win over the Coatbridge side.

The brace ended the hitman's near-four month goal drought and was his first at Stair Park since August.

Farrell said: "I know Craig and have worked with him for a long, long time.

"I've watched him in training and you know a player.

"Craig is somebody who is hitting the target in training and looking to get in the right area.

"That is not by chance and he took that into the game.

"He is working hard in training and looking very, very sharp."
Livi 20161210 012HARD luck stories have been all too common for Stranraer this season and one of those came against Livingston just a fortnight or so before Christmas.

The Blues came into the game on the back of wins over Stenhousemuir and East Kilbride but Livi were on their own winning run having won their previous six encounters on the road. Brian Reid handed starts to Giuliano Morena, Craig Thomson and Scott Agnew, with Craig Malcolm, Ryan Thomson and Scott Agnew dropping to the bench.

The home side made the perfect start when Willie Gibson fired home an unstoppable free-kick with just five minutes on the clock. Things could have got even better after the break when Agnew hit the bar and then was denied by Liam Kelly.

The game would be turned around in the final 13 minutes though with the introduction of two substitutes. Josh Mullin's cross was perfect for fellow sub Dale Carrick to nod home and then Mullin turned provider again, this time for Rafaelle De Vita to slide home from a tight angle.
