Aitken & McCloskey sign on again

caitken1415smallThe Blues signed up another two players in the past few days. Chris Aitken, already with 135 appearances in his 4 seasons with club plus his useful contribution of 32 goals, many from the spot as the clubs penalty king, is back but will also this year be taking on some coaching responsibility in addition to his role in the first smcloskey1415smallteam squad while he begins his work towards attaining his coaching badges. 20 year old Sam McCloskey returns from his loan spell last season at Kilbirnie Ladeside when Manager Brian Reid, handed the left sided midfielder his first professional contract. Sam, a product of Kilmarnock based Bonnyton Thistle, one of Scotland's premier youth football organisations that has in the past produced Blues including Mark Campbell, Neil McGowan and John Robertson signed amateur forms for Stranraer last season. Reid said " When I came into the club I knew of Sam but wanted to see him for myself in pre season training before making any decision  but he has earned his contract, showning a tremendous attitude and determination to secure a deal with the club and I have no doubt that he will show the willingness and effort to push on in the game."
