CAMERON Belford's clean sheet against Raith Rovers will be his last in a Stranaer jersey.

The goalkeeper was released from his contract yesterday (Thursday) to allow him to take up an 18 month contract with English League 2 club Forest Green Rovers.

Stranraer FC were keen to retain the services of the fans favourite, who has made close to 100 appearances since his arrival from Wrexham.

However, a change to Cammy's personal circumstances have meant that a return south of the border was imminent. We were keen to make this transition as easy as possible for him and his young family.

Cammy, popular with everyone at the club, goes with our best wishes and thanks for his endeavours during his time with us.

With Belford moving on, Max Currie gets the opportunity to stake his claim to the number one jersey as he returns from a loan spell at Cumbernauld Colts - starting with a trip to Cliftonhill.
